Cenil is a traditional food in East Java, in my area precisely in the village Temenggungan-Udanawu-Blitar. This food is preferable in my area, so it's no wonder sellers cenil in my village is very crowded by the buyer. Just call as the "MBAK NING" that her name.

Cenil made from cassava flour, it so very sweet taste because it is sprinkled with sugar. The color is colored red, green, white. The color is given according to our tastes, given just before boiling.


Cenil usually accompanied by a sprinkling of shredded coconut on top of that add a savory taste on the tongue while eating.

Below is How to Make Cenil

material :
150 grams of flour starch
salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon sugar
120 ml water
5 drops red food coloring
1 liter of water to boil

Ingredients :

Topping:
150 grams of grated young coconut
Salt to taste (optional)
2 Spoon eat sugar

How to Make Cenil steps are:
-Mix flour, salt, and sugar and stir well. Pour water is poured food coloring, knead until smooth.

-Boil water, take a little dough, to form elliptical gyre, enter directly into the boiling water. Cook until floating, remove, and set aside.

-Steamed coconut and salt for about 10 minutes until cooked. Remove and set aside. Roll cenil with steamed grated coconut and sugar sprinkles and serve.
